Description
The Sunset Comfort Chinstrap (CS005) is a simple, soft chinstrap for CPAP users whose mouth falls open during sleep. It is made by Sunset Healthcare Solutions and is for people who wake with a dry mouth or feel air leaking from their mouth.
When your mouth opens during therapy, air escapes instead of reaching your airway. A chinstrap gently supports the jaw to help keep your mouth closed. The Comfort model has a soft cloth chin cup and attaches to itself at the top of the head, so it's quick to put on and take off.
How it's worn: the chinstrap fastens to itself at the top of the head. It does not replace your mask headgear.
Size: one size fits most, according to Sunset. There are no sizes to choose from.
When to replace: ResMed's general CPAP supply schedule lists chin straps every 6 months. Replace it sooner if it stretches out or no longer holds your jaw in place.
Care: hand wash only and lay flat to dry. Sunset lists the Comfort Chinstrap as latex-free.
