Description
The Philips Respironics Wisp is a minimal-contact nasal CPAP mask, sold here as a FitPack with headgear. It is for adults (over 66 lb) on CPAP or bi-level therapy, and the Youth size is for children 7 and older (over 40 lb).
The Wisp has no forehead pad, which gives you a better field of vision than a traditional nasal mask. The FitPack includes three cushion sizes so you can find your fit, and Philips' magnetic headgear clips come standard.
Fits: CPAP and bi-level machines. Your hose connects to the short Wisp tube and swivel elbow at the front of the mask.
Options:
- Clear frame: clear silicone frame (not reversible).
- Fabric: reversible fabric frame, soft suedette on one side and silky sateen on the other.
- Youth size: Wisp Youth FitPack with fabric frame, reduced-size headgear and magnetic clips, for ages 7 and up (over 40 lb).
Choosing a cushion: the adult FitPack includes Small/Medium, Large and Extra Large cushions. Pick the one that fits the width of your nose without blocking your nostrils; the top of the cushion can sit between the bridge and the tip of your nose. The Petite cushion is sold separately (Philips 1094086).
Replacement: Replace the cushion if it is hardened or torn, and any part that is cracked or broken.
Care: hand wash the non-fabric parts daily and the fabric parts weekly. Don't use bleach, alcohol, or cleaners with conditioners or moisturizers.
Magnet safety: The headgear clips are magnetic. Philips' updated magnet warning says not to use this mask if you, or anyone close to you while you use it (such as a bed partner, caregiver or household member), has certain implanted medical devices, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, neurostimulator or cochlear implant, and to keep the mask at least 6 inches (about 15 cm) away from other medical implants. Read Philips' current instructions for use and check with your doctor before use.
